First Friday Recovery Event
$5 First Friday

New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

Each First Friday, admission to the Museum only is $5 per person after 5:30 p.m. and visitors enjoy special activities focusing on a topic in science. September is known as National Recovery Month, so this evening will feature information about substance use treatment as part of our temporary exhibition Drugs: Cost and Consequences. Resources for mental health services that help promote awareness for a healthy lifestyle will be included. Recovery month helps to celebrate the journey and effort made by those seeking improvement. Local organizations, including Duke City Recovery Toolbox, Choice Recovery Path, and Alzheimers Association, will provide table displays on treatments and services offered.

The Planetarium will present Fractal Friday at the usual times of 6, 7, 8, and 9 p.m. with the normal admission of adults $10, seniors $7, and children (3-12) $5. Shows typically sell out in advance, so get your tickets early at fractalfoundation.org  If the sky is clear, the observatory’s telescope will zoom in on far away objects briefly from 8:15 to 9 p.m. The Hope Café will be open continuously from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. that day, so you can enjoy dinner while waiting for the museum to reopen (only the café entrance will be open from 5 – 5:30 p.m.)
